Our new Montessori cabinet

It's not big but it's perfect!

The doors fold right back so it feels really welcoming & right now I've mostly got Practical Life activities set up so I don't need more space. There is more space up top behind the glass doors for when I get more organised and can start including some Sensorial materials

I reeeally want to have a Pink Tower and the Red Rods and more but with school fees I think I'm going to have to make all of my Montessori materials so I'll have to work out what I will be able to have do. Any advice will be gratefully accepted :)

  1. Your cabinet is nice! I would be excited too. That's great that you can make your own materials. I am not crafty at all!

  2. It looks REALLY GREAT Amber. Congratulations. There are posts here at Montessori at Home about making your own sensorial materials. Here's the link to the first of a series of three on the pink tower and brown stairs. She also did red rods later.

I'll let you hunt the archives on your own. However, I can tell you I bought my red rods for $17 at Adena Montessori and my pink tower for $20. (The sale they have right now is not quite as good as when I purchased, I think they are more like $20 and $25.) I don't think I could have made them for that much.

    Good luck, keep us posted!

  3. Oh! It is so beautiful! What a perfect space!

  4. It is perfect! I love it. Thanks for visiting. Koko, my oldest is going to be 4 next month, and my youngest is going to be 2 next month as well.
