Wategos Beach is one of the truly heavenly spots of the world. And a dream place to start a big swim.

Winter suddenly arrived as the annual Wategos to Main Beach 2km Byron Winter Whales ocean classic hit the water this weekend. Brrr! Though, everyone I spoke to said the water was quite warm - it would have been the standing around on the beach in your swimmers bit that would have been a bit of a shock to the system.
I opted for staying warm and looking at all the pretty!
